Homemade Poutine

When I was growing up in Canada, the two national dishes I incredibly enjoyed eating were poutine and butter tarts.

Poutine is a French-Canadian dish of french fries with cheese curds on top and covered in gravy, so the cheese gets all gooey.

It’s kind of hard to imagine until you actually taste it. We bake the fries, make a rich mushroom gravy and vegan cheeze to go on top.

So delicious!! 🙂

Ingredients

  • Potatoes
  • Olive oil
  • Garlic powder, rosemary, thyme
  • Salt and pepper
  • Mushroom gravy ingredients (see directions)
  • Tofu ricotta or cashew mozzarella ingredients (see directions)

Directions

  1. Make baked fries according to this recipe
  2. Make mushroom gravy using this recipe
  3. Make tofu ricotta or cashew mozzarella
  4. Assemble your plate with fries, gravy on top, and cheeze on top of that. Enjoy your sumptuous Canadian poutine treat!
